HOW PINTERESTING …
Hey everybody, have you heard? There’s a new social networking site in town and it’s called Pinterest. It was actually launched around two years ago but has been flying under the radar while gaining itself a loyal, largely female, following.
The model is fairly simple. You see something you like on the internet and ‘pin’ it to your virtual noticeboard. Others can then come along and view your notice board, or they can choose to view all things with a ‘design’ tag, for example, on the Pinterest site. It’s also a handy place for brands to inhabit, with the likes of Gap and Threadless having their own boards.
A recent study also showed that Pinterest has the power to drive more visitors to third party websites than the combined efforts of Google+, YouTube and LinkedIn. Not bad going for something that hasn’t been hitting the headlines yet. I’m assuming that it’s predominately American based at the moment, but then so was Facebook once upon a time, so that’s no reason to discount its potential value over here. For a more in-depth round-up of what it’s all about, cnn has an article on it here and you should probably check out the thing itself here… happy pinning!

Good luck @BonnieTOfficial - we believe in you! #eurovision
