We create engaging content across a variety of platforms for some of the world’s best-known brands, and we have fun along the way.

To support our continued digital growth, we are looking for a Senior Front End Developer to join our small, yet perfectly formed Development team. We deliver a wide range of technical solutions to clients across many core sectors, including Aviation, Financial Services and Healthcare.  These projects range from large scale fully content managed brochure sites and content hubs, to custom API integrations and deployment solutions.  All projects consider a high level of security and coding best practices, along with ensuring that they are scalable for ongoing and future development.

In this role your core responsibility will be developing full-stack solutions by working closely with a dedicated frontend developer in developing component driven and extendable front-end solutions.

The technical requirements do vary from project to project, but we would expect the successful candidate to possess a number of the following skills and key experiences in their technical toolbox:

 

  • Embracing CSS methodologies such as BEM and OOCSS
  • Advanced object oriented / functional / procedural programming paradigms
  • Linux, shell scripting and command line experience
  • Commercial experience with at least one MVC framework
  • Experience of developing sites with WordPress (and other open-source Content Management Systems)
  • Experience of Apache / Nginx and Linux server administration
  • Experience of CentOS 7 server environments and administration
  • PHP 5 / 7 – PSR-2
  • MySQL / MariaDB
  • WordPress (Drupal 8 experience a bonus)
  • Good knowledge of Twig (or similar templating engine)
  • HTML5
  • CSS3 / SASS
  • Bootstrap 4
  • JavaScript / ES5 / ES6
  • JS frameworks such as jQuery and Vue.js
  • js
  • Composer
  • YARN, NPM
  • Gulp / Grunt
  • Browserify or equivalent
  • Git / Mercurial or equivalent
  • CI / CD

 

Experience of Umbraco, Drupal,  SEO and MVC design pattern are desirable along with familiarity with JIRA and Asana, Engineering / Database design / DevOps knowledge and  Magento / eCommerce based platforms.

You’ll use your teamwork skills, ideally gained in an Agile environment, to work with project managers and designers across multiple parallel work streams, whilst keeping your cool, estimating and and multi tasking between projects and solving complex problems as you go.  You’ll need to prioritise and plan your work, asking for support as needed and flagging any issues that arise within projects.  You’ll have a keen eye for quality and detail and be confident at debugging.  You will need to be able to communicate complex technical solutions to varying audiences and keep up to date with advances in technology in your field.
