About the role

Due to continued business growth, and a number of recent new business wins, we are looking to expand our development team with a talented senior developer who has a track record of delivering quality end-to-end digital solutions in an agency or client-side role. We have a mobile first philosophy and are integrated with the strategy, social, editorial and creative teams to build amazing work that we are all proud of.  

As our Senior Developer, you’ll be organised, self-motivated and have good communication skills to liaise with both colleagues and clients, as required.  You’ll be joining our small, but perfectly formed development team so your team working skills with be first class, ideally gained in an agile environment.  You’ll have experience of accurately estimating project timeframes, and working on a number of projects at any one time to deliver against client deadlines. You might be working as a Developer and looking for a step up, or you may be a Senior Developer already, looking to take on more responsibility working in a smaller Development team in an agency.

We use a wide range of Development technologies, depending on the needs of our clients projects.  Ideally, you’ll have a number of the following in your technical tool box:

  •       Advanced OOP (Object Oriented Programming)
  •       Bash Command Line experience
  •       Object-oriented PHP
  •       MySQL / MariaDB
  •       HTML / CSS as well as HTML5 and CSS3
  •       JavaScript (jQuery)
  •       Good knowledge of Twig (or similar template engine)
  •       LESS / SASS
  •       GIT version control
  •       Experience with GULP and GRUNT
  •       Experience of developing sites with WordPress (and other open-source Content Management Systems)
  •       Experience of Apache / Nginx and Linux server administration
  •       Umbraco
  •       SharePoint
  •       SEO
  •       PSR-2 coding style
  •       MVC design pattern

 Any experience or knowledge of JIRA, Engineering, Database Design, Dev Ops, Magento or eCommerce-based platforms is desirable, but not essential.
